Up for a game of chol choung? It’s a boys-against-girls scarf-throwing game played during Cambodian New Year. It’s not often played these days, but this year, you can participate in this flirtatious fun during Chol Chhnam Khmer Ning Lao, the Cambodian and Laotian New Year celebration. Besides mastering scarf aerodynamics, you can also watch a Cambodian parade called "trott" which involves entertainers visiting people’s homes to "bring luck" for the upcoming year. "This is the first year that we’re really trying to open up the celebration to all of the Philadelphia community," says Leendavy Koung, the event organizer, "We want to share our culture with others."
