Move over Grooverider, U.K.’s Andy C is king of the jungle. Considered the world’s number one drum ’n’ bass DJ according to Knowledge magazine’s annual awards and Drum & Bass Arena (drumnbassarena.com), tha’ C has been droppin’ the deadly breakcore since the early ’90s — producing and spinning tracks that would mutate the face of U.K. rave and jungle as early as age 15. Early releases like the heavy "Valley of the Shadows" led Andy to his own Wednesday night spot on London’s Kiss FM radio and geared him toward masterminding Ram Records. Andy C consolidates his dance-floor homicide with labelmates Ant Miles and Shimon on the new collective project Ram Trilogy. Andy’s first-ever Philly appearance will be one of Platinum’s craziest, as Andy C’s following (in Philly alone) is probably larger than his acetate collection.
