Botany 500 spins (weekly, trip-hop, funk/soul) @ O’Neal’s, n/c. Botany has made a mark in the city with his rare grooves and flawless selection of soul and funk. Come see what all the hype is about.

Fresh Thursdays (weekly, trance, progressive house) @ Deco Nightclub w/ Joey Savino and guests, $10 w/out membership. Let Joey Savino take you on a journey through progressive house and trance in the main room while special guests work it in the Ruby Lounge.

FRIDAY, MAY 12

The Philadelphia Experiment (monthly, deep house) @ Silk City w/ Carl Michaels, Sean Thomas, Willyum and Kevin V, $4. Vibrant deep house spun on four turntables. Experience Philly’s true underground.

Midi Lounge (monthly, techno, trance) @ Love Lounge w/ DJ Roogirl, Bjoern and Slushy, n/c. Experience a seduction in techno and tech-trance in a loungey atmosphere.

Latin Night (weekly, house, reggae/world) @ Brasil’s w/ Jay Rockwell, $8. The only place in Philly where you can dance the night away to the sounds of Latin house, salsa and merengue.

Release! (weekly, house, hip-hop) @ Butter w/ DJ Roland Riso, $5. A pumpin’ weekly featuring a Skribble-like DJ molding the dance floor with house, garage, funk and hip-hop.

Urban Rhythms (weekly, deep house) @ Love Lounge w/ Willyum, Carl Michaels and Kevin V, n/c. The deepest of deep house gatherings in Philly.

SATURDAY, MAY 13

Danny Tenaglia spins (one-off, house) @ Transit. One of America’s most adored house DJs comes to Philly to drop a captivating set of tech house and deep, escalating grooves.

Control (one-off, drum ’n’ bass) @ Upstage w/ DJ Fierce, MC Ryme Tyme, Karl K, Jaeson Kennedy, Icon, Art Cuebik and MC J-Messinian, $8. UK’s Fierce and Ryme Tyme are known for devastating the d’n’b dance floor. This is the first in a series of d’n’b parties with a line-up that couldn’t get much better.

Saturdays (weekly, house, deep house, experimental/ambient) @ Marmont w/ Alexander Adrock, n/c. The only lounge where you’ll hear house music merged with anything from Kraftwerk to the Yellow Magic Orchestra. Plus the martinis are addicting.

Steady (weekly, deep house, house) @ Fluid w/ Pete Moss and Sean Thomas, $5. Two of Philly’s smoothest house DJs set the vibe and keep you jittering with soul in motion.

Recline (weekly, trip-hop, experimental/ambient) @ Love Lounge w/ Lux and Naseema, n/c. A heart to heart weekly lounge congregation loafing to the likes of Thievery Corporation, Kruder & Dorfmeister and other soothing trip-hop sounds.

Impact 2000 (weekly, progressive house, house, hip-hop) @ Space w/ Jeff Heart, Mass, DJ Freedom, Ricky Lee, and Tripp, $10 w/ flier. Rave on with the Space residents until 2 a.m. glowstick-style, and feel yourself being thrown into euphoria.

SUNDAY, MAY 14

An Intimate Evening with DJ Rap @ Shampoo w/ DJ Rap, $10. DJ Rap never fails to captivate a crowd with her slammin’ jungle sets and her physical beauty. She’s promoted as a "deadly assassin" in a variety of ways.

Reality Sundays (weekly, hip-hop, reggae/world) (funk/soul) @ Heat w/ Cozmic Cat, n/c. The first night of lounge vibed for a chill-out crowd on the outdoor old Pier 34.

Escape (weekly, trance, hardcore/happy hardcore, drum ’n’ bass) @ The Warehouse w/ Hectic, Scorpion, Circuit Breaker, Dream Weaver, Bexxie, Kpakpo, Armen, Abduct, Bishop K, and MC J-Messinian, $8 before 9 p.m. A new weekly of slammin’ dance floor domination and over-the-top rave-ola.

MONDAY, MAY 15

Method Mondays (bi-weekly, hip-hop) @ TLA w/ Talib Kweli & Hi Tek, Dilated Peoples, LM Mental and DJ Low Budget, $15 in advance/$17 at the door. The Goodie Goodie crew unites some of the dopest underground hip-hop artists in one place.

Playground (weekly, progressive house, house, trance) @ Evolution w/ Moe Green, DJ Dominator, and King Trance. A new weekly party that’ll pump your body until 3 a.m.

Magnetique (weekly, experimental/ambient, trip-hop, drum ’n’ bass) @ Silk City w/ Jeff and Jugo, n/c. Warm, generous atmosphere where anything goes, and you’ll hear anything from indie-pop to trip-hop to atmospheric d’n’b to Manchester.

The Remedy (weekly, hip-hop) @ Fluid w/ Cozmo and Big Rich $5. One of Philly’s phattest hip-hop weekly’s ever with plenty of beats and plenty of meat.

TUESDAY, MAY 16

Mental Floss (monthly, experimental/ambient) @ 700 Club w/ Crasta, Erin Anderson, and Sean "da shit" O’Neal, n/c. A breathtaking excursion into clip hop, blip hop, ambient and minimal techno.

Heavy (weekly, deep house, trip-hop, reggae/world) @ Saint Jacks‚ w/ Rob Paine, n/c. Lounge out to the funk-soul-hop-jazz thrown by the Worship Records‚ dubmeister himself.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 17

Alex Gopher spins (one-off, deep house, house, trip-hop) @ Fluid w/ Summer Joy, Eors and Jugo, $5 before 11/$7 after. It’s always a treat and a rare occasion to experience Gopher’s brand of deep and funky French house.

EthniCITY (weekly, house) (funk/soul, reggae/world) @ Brave New World’s VIP Lounge w/ Rahsaan, $5. Rahsaan offers a fusion of Afro-Latin rhythms, nu and old soul and fresh house music for a culturally-mixed crowd.

Phuture Beats (weekly, drum ’n’ bass) @ O’Neal’s w/ Ivan Ross, n/c. Ivan keeps his jungle chill and atmospheric — almost ambient at times. This is an opportunity to hear d’n’b in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Soulglow (weekly, deep house, trip-hop) @ Filo’s w/ Willyum, n/c. The ideal chill-out spot to warm up for the weekend with deep house, acid jazz, and trip-hop.
