MDFMK

MDFMK is just like KMFDM, but completely different. Gone are longtime contributors En Esch and Günter Schulz, but founding member Sascha Konietzko wasn’t about to say adios and live happily ever after. He and Tim Skold had already teamed up with Lucia Cifarelli to form MDFMK before the ashes had even settled. As the headstone for the dearly departed was plastered all over creation, Sascha had already signed the new incarnation to Republic/Universal Records. Enter their first album (and ensuing tour): trademark gnashing guitars and nihilistic lyrics reassure fans that they haven’t gone anywhere, but in a welcome departure from the marching stomp-stomp rhythms that had firmly locked the band’s work into a bland collection of indistinguishable tunes, MDFMK’s electronica has evolved to include snazzy breakbeats to move a body and melodic riffs that get stuck in the head.
