Bruce Cockburn.
This year's singer-songwriter weekend, presented by Independence Blue Cross and WXPN, has a decidedly twangy tone, from our own Rolling Hayseeds to Nashville angel Kim Richey to San Francisco's moody quartet Big Blue Hearts. But the highlight is surely Suzanne Vega, whose inventive songwriting has become more rhythmic and funky and less and less folky. Still, according to A? records, Vega will be doing a stripped down set with longtime bass player Mike Visceglia at this annual bring-out-the-blankets and chill out by the Delaware fest. Saturday's line-up: Grey Eye Glances (3 p.m.); Big Blue Hearts (4 p.m.); Kim Richey (5:10 p.m.); Suzanne Vega (6:10 p.m.); Bruce Cockburn (7:20 p.m.). Sunday's line-up: Rolling Hayseeds (3 p.m.); Kim Fox (4 p.m.); Paul Cebra and the Milwaukeeans (5:10 p.m.); Dar Williams (6:15 p.m.); John Hiatt (7:20 p.m.).
