Denison Witmer

image

Witmer has come to be known as the quiet, sensitive guy of Philly indie rock (our Pedro the Lion, our Damien Jurado, if you will). That said, his new full length, Of Joy & Sorrow (Burnt Toast Vinyl), is a (relatively) big-sounding affair. Featuring several numbers with full band in effect (including Don and Karen Peris of Witmer faves The Innocence Mission), OJ&S gives a rounder, fuller musical perspective on Denison’s consistently earnest, simple man confessionals. Witmer will party down (if you can party to music as dour as his can be) for Of Joy & Sorrow’s release and helping out will be album contributor Don Peris.
