THE GERMAN SOCIETY OF PHILADELPHIA 611 Spring Garden St., 215-627-2332, ext. 10 The White Rose (1982, Germany, 108 min.) Students at Munich University start a rebellion against the actions of the Nazi government at the start of World War II. Fri., June 7, 7:30 p.m.

INTERNATIONAL HOUSE 3601 Chestnut St., 215-895-6542 A Band of Outsiders (1964, France, 97 min.) Jean-Luc Godard directs his wife, Anna Karina, in this classic of the French New Wave about three misfits in a plot to rob a boarder in one of their aunt's homes. The movie has been seen rarely in the U.S., and I-House's screening is from a new 35mm print featuring new subtitles. Fri., June 7, 8 p.m.

PRINCE MUSIC THEATER 1412 Chestnut St., 215-569-9700 Showbiz Is My Life (2001, U.S., 52 min.) Philadelphia premiere of Hillary Harris and Ayr Robinson's documentary pays homage to the New York cabaret scene from the 1930s to the 1960s, focusing on the stories of three big names from the time: Julie Wilson, Baby Jane Dexter and Natalie Gamsu. Fri., June 7, 6 p.m.; Sat., June 8, 6 p.m.; Sun., June 9, noon. (Sunday's screening is followed by brunch and a live performance by Dexter and Gamsu, $30, tickets must be purchased in advance for this event.) High Society (1956, U.S., 107 min.) Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra fight over Philly¹s own Grace Kelly in this film set in Newport, R.I., during its famous jazz festival. Music from Louis Armstrong and Cole Porter (whose birthday this screening honors) heightens the zany drama. Sun., June 9, 7 p.m. (birthday cake served before screening).

SECRET CINEMA 40th Street Field (between Walnut and Locust at 40th) Moonlight Movie Series at Penn Campus Tarantula (1955, U.S., 80 min.)
