Lady Bunny

Darlings, we all deserve to be beautiful. And what better way than with a teased platinum-blond wig, pout rose-petal lips, a short leopard mini and, of course, falsies -- eyelashes, that is. Bringing bouffant beauty to brotherly love, Lady Bunny and her drag troupe of divas will strut into town this Friday and drape the neighborhood in boas of bling. Shampoo hosts "Absolut Live: The Floor Show," an over-the-top, gender-bending extravaganza featuring comedy, dance and stylized vocal selections. Bunny, Absolut Live's MC, rose to popularity through the '80s for her New York festival, Wigstock. The annual daylong drag show was the subject of a 1995 mockumentary, Wigstock: The Movie, incorporating live footage from festivals and staged skits by Bunny and her crew. Though Wigstock ended last year after 18 seasons, the ever-frisky Bunny now tours with Absolut Live, sponsored by the eponymous vodka and starring a winning hand of singing queens. With its proceeds benefiting the William Way Community Center, the Philly bill includes Angelique Ali, a legendary diva who won It's Showtime at the Apollo's vocal competitions several times (with the Apollo's audience never catching on to her little secret), vocalist Sade Pendarvis and dancer Edie performing with her entourage. Bunny, who has toured with her glitz ensemble nationwide, says the supreme talent has blown away audiences at past shows. There's no need to hide your charms under a bushel: This show is a hit. Arise, sweet child.

“Absolute Live: The Floor Show,” Fri., June 14, 7:30 p.m., $15, Shampoo, Willow St. between Seventh and Eighth; for more info, call the William Way Community Center, 215-732-2220.
