Philly Boy gets a theater run as it splashes across the screen of the Prince Music Theater this week. Filmmaker Michael Dennis has created a 65-minute movie on the life of local hip-hop pioneer, the Discombubalator himself, MC Breeze. Show your face in the place as Dennis hosts a Q&A session following the screening. Another Brotherly Love legend, Schoolly D, says: “How can you talk about Philadelphia [rap music] without talking about MC Breeze? How are you going to go from Schoolly D to Jazzy Jeff? You can’t. He’s the link in the chain.” Fri., June 28, Prince Music Theater, Broad and Chestnut sts., 215-599-9700, 7:30 p.m., $7. PS: Watch out for Dennis’ new film on soul sisters The Jazzyfatnastees (and the birth of Mercedes’ baby). Speaking of babies, congratulations to Aja and Fatin of Kindred on the arrival of their newest member, baby girl Diya Dantzler.

Trek on over to Lansdale when Itsallday.com presents 2-Nite, an evening of non-stop hip-hop with a big ol' bill. Former Digable Planets member, Cee Knowledge, a.k.a. Doodlebug, and his Cosmic Funk Orchestra, 40th Dimension with Reef, the Lost Cauze, Adlib, GQ, Kasper and more will grace the stage. There will be giveaways. Be in the house, y'all can leave the city every once in a while! Sat., June 29, The Legion, Second and Walnut sts., Lansdale, (across from train station), 610-737-5877, 9 p.m., $6, ladies $2 before 10 p.m.

Don't Fake the Funk is back with the pre-Independence Day blowout, United We Funk! In the roomy and fly Locust Club, Tigerhook reps with DJs Deep C, Hollis P. Monroe, Chris Udoh, Randall Jones and Hito. Hip-Hop and dancehall take over the downstairs at "The Hustlers Convention" with Cosmo Baker and Kenny Meez on the ones and twos. And in the Soul Samba lounge, waxmasters Botany 500, Jugo and Milkyway take the reins and let it ride. Wed., July 3, 1616 Locust St., blakesbags@yahoo.com, 9 p.m., $10. Warning: DFTF says they are doing it even harder than the last time, which was their Memorial Day weekend, eight-year anniversary celebration.

Boom! Fourth of July!
