ESHO RECORD RELEASE PARTY (one-off) (deep house) @ Fluid w/ Sean Thomas and Jimi, $5. At Fluid, a true house-head can never get enough of the soul-soothing, metronomic bliss of deep house music -- and its probably one of the best intimate spots in Philly to shake your thang -- where the much-missed, ultra-soulful Steady Saturdays with Pete Moss and Sean Thomas used to unite the vibing dancefloor through vocal sensuality, funky 4/4 rhythms and lush, oceanic tones. Sean Thomas returns to Philly for one night to celebrate his latest release on Esho Recordings, Formfree EP -- three deep, soulful, moody tracks of pumpin beats, bubbling basslines, cleansing synth pads, heart-rending vocal stabs, shuffling percussion and a touch of dub. Following acclaimed artists like Dave Warrin and Julias Papp, Sean Thomas 12-inch marks Eshos first release since Thanksgiving, and one of the cuts has already been licensed for Trendroids forthcoming mix-CD on Kinetic. Thomas was first noticed in the mid-90s as one-fourth of the house entourage , Circle K (later Circle), along with Rob Paine, OKeef and Narayan. Then last year he turned heads with his funked-up, soul-driven debut single on his own label, Sound Between Movement. Come hang with the Philly house veteran as he reflects and rocks out.
