Klibanoff leaving

During a Wednesday afternoon meeting, Inquirer deputy managing editor Hank Klibanoff announced that he would be leaving to accept a managing editor’s position at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, starting Oct. 1.

“I’m very excited about this opportunity,” says Klibanoff, who has also said that he supports the personnel overhaul that’s about to occur at the Inky. “They’ve been looking for someone for a while. They sought me out.”

The managing editor post at the Inky has been open since January, when Phillip Dixon left. Klibanoff applied for that position, but didn’t get it.

According to the Journal-Constitution, Klibanoff’s title will be managing editor/news. James Mallory, a Journal-Constitution deputy managing editor, will be promoted to managing editor/initiatives and operations.
