Philadelphia had its own love affair with the Airstream trailer when local artists Courtney Dailey and Ginger Brooks Takahashi helped launch the Projet Mobilivre-Bookmobile Project last year. Their 1959 Airstream Overlander trailer traveled the U.S. and Canada, carrying an exhibit of artists' books. If you missed out on the art-show-in-a-parking-lot experience, the Clay Studio is giving you another, albeit different, chance to get on the bus. The Artstream Nomadic Gallery is a remodeled 30-foot 1967 Airstream trailer, carrying across America an exhibit called North American Dish Makers. The opening of the Philadelphia stop on Artstream's tour coincides with First Friday, and the trailer will be parked in the Clay Studio's parking lot. If you see a dish you like, buy it and take it home -- the exhibition will keep replenishing their displays as pieces are sold throughout the tour.
