Let's play the Pop Quiz drinking game! You know you'll be drinking anyway when the three-round, Quizzo-esque music trivia game makes its long-awaited return to The Khyber this Monday. Bring this checklist along, so you can chug when:
1. A local rock critic immediately follows up trash-talk with an apology.
2. Hosts Bethany Klein and Butch Sweaters bob their heads along to the song identification portion.
3. Someone utters the phrases "kraut rock," "Nuggets II" or "which Warlocks?"
4. A local musician argues with the hosts.
5. Some dork in glasses and a sweater vest clarifies an answer with his index finger in the air.
6. A guy in a child's soccer jersey grumbles about the lack of indie questions.
7. A host allows an obvious travesty to take place (for instance, calling "Robert Plant" a correct answer when some mention of the Honeydrippers is obviously warranted).
8. You hear a Smiths song (two drinks if somebody complains that they always play Smiths songs).
9. When someone at your table says, "Wait, I know this!" then stares off into space for a while.
10. Philadelphia Weekly writers Joey Sweeney and Gabe Boylan spin records after the quiz. (Drink extra if Marah shows up.)
Pop Quiz, Mon., Sept. 9, 9 p.m., $5, 3-5 players per team, The Khyber, 56 S. Second St., 215-238-5888.
