Hey Ladies

It's crunch time, people. Ladyfest Philadelphia is just three months away and the leading ladies could use your help in getting everything up and funded for March's four-day art-music-performance festival (confirmed rock acts include The Haggard, Winterbrief, Mirah, Kelly Slusher and April Disaster). The next Ladyfest benefit features Lil' Hospital (dubbed a twee Ramones), True If Destroyed (loudmouthed, big-hearted punks), Triumph (who apparently make co-ed crotch rock) and smiley pop kids The Snow Fairies. Word is The SFs -- Philadelphia's Most Huggable -- are embarking on a rather ambitious little project: reworking Kurt Weill's music to Bertolt Brecht's Threepenny Opera. Bold stuff from a band known for being coy and understated. Expect them to unveil the results at a series of shows at Bryn Mawr College. Meantime, come hear these guys and girl do what they do best -- make itty bitty rock epics about getting lost in love. Aw.

Ladyfest Benefit, Fri., Jan. 3, 8 p.m., $7, with The Snow Fairies, Triumph and True if Destroyed, The Balcony, 1003 Arch St., 215-922-LIVE. For more information, visit www.ladyfestphilly.org.
