Sweet Tooth

The folks at Squarebiz aren't dishing the ball to The Answer or hustling it up the field with McNabb. Instead, a couple of the best in the business make the big play as Philly's own DJ Jazzy Jeff (without the Fresh Prince) and the legendary Pete Rock (free of C.L. Smooth) hold regal court on the wheels of steel. The two have got a lot in common; besides producing a bevy of hits for everyone from Jill Scott to Naughty by Nature to Michael Jackson, both produced BBE Beat Generation albums -- Pete with Petestrumentals and Jeff with last year's The Magnificent. At the inaugural edition of the 'Biz's new Sweet Tooth, these two prolific studio producers and DJs showcase their extensive record collections and nimble digits. Watch and learn as these veteran turntablists demonstrate the art of party rockin', grown-up style.

Sat., Jan. 18, 8 p.m., $20, open bar; 10 p.m., $15, with resident DJ Mike Nyce, Fluid, 613 S. Fourth St., 215-629-0565, www.squarebiz.org.
