With the popularity of CSI and viewers¹ apparently insatiable desire to reconstruct and solve cases, Court TV is readying to return to the scene of the crime and everyone is invited. The cable channel brings its second national tour of its Mobile Investigation Unit, a traveling forensics lab, to Philadelphia this weekend. Junior CSI agents will get a taste for cutting-edge, real-life forensics technology. This digital, magical mystery tour is an interactive exhibit where people will have the opportunity to watch a simulated ¹caper scene¹ on a series of monitors that allow them to gather fingerprints, fibers and other clues. Visitors will get a little assistance from ¹Frank Lee Forensics,¹ who will aid the rookie investigators and entertain with real forensics experiments that can be used to solve household-sized crimes. ¹Our viewers are completely engaged in the investigations they watch on Court TV, and the MIU allows them to actually participate, first-hand in the puzzle-solving,¹ says Court TV CEO Henry Schleiff. Not only will you be able to examine the latest technologies, but parents can get a personal forensic profile for their child that includes digital fingerprints and a photo -- or mug shot -- that they can take with them.
Mobile Investigation Unit tour, Sat., May 17, 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m. and Sun., May 18, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Franklin Mills Mall, 1455 Franklin Mills Circle, www.courttv.com/tour.
