The major part of the classical music season is now officially over, but two concerts this week add a pair of exclamation points to the springtime music scene, with new music courtesy of the Relâche Ensemble and the Prism Quartet, both locally based ensembles with national reputations for spirited and engaging music making. (For the lowdown on Relâche's Art Museum collaboration with visual/sound artist Christian Marclay, see Artspicks on p. 22.) The Prism Quartet, consisting of a variety of saxophones, will present four world premieres at the season closer for their Philadelphia recital series, including the music of James Primosch, Anthony Cornicello, Brian Fennelly and Juliana Trivers. It's a terrific opportunity to feed your ears some spicier food than usual.
Thu., May 15, 7:30 p.m., $10-$15, Trinity Center for Urban Life, 22nd and Spruce sts., 215-438-5282.
