Yo, yo, yo! Its those beloved Grammy folks again with yet another learning opportunity not to be missed. Garage to the Grammys, a three-panel forum exploring just what it takes to make it. First up, its "The Art of the Schmooze." Next comes "Booking, Gigging, Touring." Rounding out the day, its the all-important A&R panel. Like we always say around here, learn sumptin folks! Sat., June 7, noon-6 p.m., $10-$25, The Trocadero, 1003 Arch St., 215-985-5411, Philadelphia@GRAMMY.com. Or spend the night on the dancefloor with those lovable Ill Vibe guys. After an L&I-inspired hiatus, the ever-popular Bodyrock is back. The usual suspects, DJs Panek, Statik, Phillee Blunt and Lil Dave, will take turns blowing up the decks with the hottest hip-hop. Sat., June 7, 10 p.m.-2 a.m., $5, Aqua Lounge, 323 W. Girard Ave., 215-769-5114.
A long-standing South Philly tradition is upon us once again. Celebrate in the streets as Odunde marks its 28th year. Squarebiz DJs Mike Nyce and Orande will be on deck. Performances will be copious, as will delicious food and wonderful vendors. Sun., June 8, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., free, 23rd St. and Grays Ferry Ave., www.odunde.org.
Cap off the week with the first Monday night at The TLA that wont be followed up with a trip to DJ Cosmos The Remedy at Fluid. Time for the Love and Hate the Business Tour featuring Prince Paul, Aceyalone, Eyedea and Ugly Duckling. See p. 50 for more on that. Monday-night hip-hop at The TLA is becoming quite the regular thing. Mon., June 9, 8 p.m., $13-$15, The TLA, 334 South St., 215-336-2000. (By the way, if you do trek over to Fluid after this one, it will be DJ Big Rich Medina on the ones and twos.)
Lastly, big ups to my boy Cosmo. I wish you the world. Do ya thing in N.Y., kid. And to Rahnon, take care of yourself up in Princeton. The six-year anniversary of The Remedy last week was incredible. We banged on the wall for the last time and no one will forget it.
