What happens when you give two of the most flamboyant icons in indie rock two turntables instead of a microphone? Well, one possibility is that Ian Svenonius and Calvin Johnson, like many "punk" musicians have realized that celebrity DJing is a great way to solidify your "hipness" in the scene without working too hard. The more likely scenario is that after spending years being front and center on stage with Beat Happening and Dub Narcotic or The Make-Up, Nation of Ulysses and Scene Creamers, Johnson and Svenonius want to see how the other half lives. Fortunately these guys have good taste and huge music collections. Both are likely to spin anything from Augustus Pablo, Love, obscure French ye-ye singles from the '60s or the right special requests. Here's your opportunity to see the two spin for the make-out club crowd.
