I have to get this off my chest: new NBC 10 anchor Vince DeMentriís eyebrows -- plucked or waxed?… Old dogs, new tricks: Though a Beru Review reunion between Bob Beru and Greg Davis has been delayed, Robert Hazard recorded a CD with T-Bone Wolk (Phillyís Hazard has country cred, having hit Nashville with Fred Koller). Revered reggae man Timi and the Dub Warriors recorded with DJ June Lopez at her home studio for a freaky CD. Speaking of esteem and reggae, what are Jamaican Dave (bringing the righteous Sizzla to Starlight Sept. 20), potential bigwig visitors and The Five Spot cooking up for "Homegrown"?… WhoWhatWhere: I know the Lincís first Monday-night football game was a big deal. Stallones, Sly and Frank, OK. Vera Wang doing the cheerleadersí teensy outfits, fine. But Jaleel “Urkel” White? Be Careful Little Hands bassist Ben Morgan escorted Portland pal Courtney Taylor-Taylor (Dandy Warhols) to where the latter wanted to go after her Troc show: "a quiet, dark, old-man bar," says Morgan. They wound up at Midtown II Diner where Taylor had Jack and soda with cola. Director Eugene Martin (Edge City) shot a short at the Mütter Museum for the Greater Philadelphia Film Office. In town for his Experiment, homeboy Jamie Kennedy was at Delilahís (not that late, as the club got him out of the VIP area around 2 -- the bouncers werenít laughing), World Fusion and the just-opened Red Sky. The pink lit-up Sky also hosted Brian McKnight (who ate at Cuba Libre), as well as a film crew looking to pilot (a la The Restaurant) something about Sky for NBCís morning show, 10! Speaking of pink, thatís what Mariah Carey liked in her dressing room at the Tower -- pink drapes, rugs and walls. Carole and Joe Shanis hosted a black-tie dinner for Luciano Pavarotti at their Rittenhouse penthouse to benefit Phillyís Chamber Orchestra. Gary Hart and Harry Belafonte were at the American Philosophical Society for Interdependence Day. After signing Pretzel Park at Tower Records on Broad Street last week, 4 Way Street hits The TLA Sept. 18. Junior Vasquez threw a hissy fit after spinning a few songs at Emerald City, stopping because of dancing girls, shirtless boys and overcrowding. Gurl, you shouldíve been at The Gallery for Naam Brigade and Chingy. Now that was a fracas!… Asbury Parkís deSol debuts in Philly Sept. 19 at Top Dog in the Hilton (where you can catch WRTIís David Ortiz doing his Locura salsa/merengue dance jam every Sunday). The Latin rockers signed to Curb/WB via local A&R legend Bob Catania and manager Frankie Previte, songwriter of Dirty Dancing hits. Speaking of Asbury, rumor has Bruce Springsteen getting $10,342,060 for his three Philly shows. What did Elton John get paid for playing Harley-Davidsonís 100th anniversary in Milwaukee and Wachoviaís jam for Toyota with Clay Aiken (who was spotted on the corner of 15th and Sansom, apparently looking for someplace to eat)?… Though his peeps deny it, is Avram Hornik (Loie) eyeballing a spot at 19th and Chestnut?… Enya Buttox brings the best of the East Village/Downtown perf-art scene to Philly with a Five Spot series, "Direct from NYC," starting Sept. 20 with Mike Albo and Margo Gomezís "Together Alone." Their credits: La Mama, Fringe, VH1ís Viva Divas.… Chatty Cathyís DJíing Sept. 20 for Stonegrahamís girL party, "Back To School" at Ciannoís (1439 Synder Ave.) with DJ MG to boot.… Cary Neff of Sansom Street Oyster House posed in Food Arts magazine for Vita-Prepís ad series, "Famous Chefs Naked with Their Blender."… The Sapphire Group announced June 2004ís Blue Ball will hit the National Constitution Center. "Baby Blue," Sept. 20 at 2-4, celebrates the decision with DJ Alex Lauterstein.… Not only is there a new Trader Joeís supershop at 21st and Market, but Jimi Mooney/Helen Back works there.… No Such Thing as Neosoul, Stephanie Reneeís in-progress documentary, sneak-peeked at Jamaican Jerk Hut last week.… Youíll see a lot of A.D. in the next couple of weeks: kicking off a once-monthly Monday at Bar Noir (Sept. 22) and Opus 251ís first weekly, on Wednesdays (Sept. 24), and attending Philly Songwriters PR seminar, Sept. 20 at First Unitarian Church with Nancy Falkow, Jesse Lundy, Megan Wendell, Tom Moon and CPís Pat Rapa.… Lisa Hammer (of Rouge and Bar Noir fame) got married to Graydon Hutchinson. Congrats to Hammer, and to wedding singer Erica Schiff and her Dreamtime, who played Hammerís reception at Four Seasons and receptions at the Ben Franklin Hotel and Twelve Caesars all in one day. More congrats to North on South Street, whoíll celebrate a one-year anniversary with Pravda vodka Sept. 19, and to Bart Blatstein, who celebrated his b-day at a No-Lib jam thrown by Paperstreet. On a sad note, raise a glass to the deceased Marty Keenan of Rock Lobster and to Ali Abdul Majeed, local musician and teacher.
