Between John DeBella and Michael Tearson cleaning brass stars on the Walk of Fame, and jagoff Rush Limbaugh yapping at the Union League, Broad Street was more abuzz than a kegger full of Mummers. While we're sort of on the subject, OxyContin (Rush's alleged drug o' choice) -- along with cocaine and GHB -- were reportedly found in state/federal raids along Rehoboth Beach for supposed distribution, according to Delaware newspapers. The sting isn't just a Delaware thing. Philly club kids hawking drugs: Keep a pretty eye open for the law.… The butcher and the baker at Market and Letitia streets are gone, but Scott Lebon wants you to know that 120 Market isn't forgotten; he's opening Suede there soon. And isn't there a Denim-like lounge going up on South Second, next to Café Spice, from an Arizona concern?… Whiskey Dix welcomes new DJ, WYSP-guy/strip-bar spinner/rooster-headed Jackie.… WhoWhatWhere: No one from R.E.M. showed at Pete Yorn's secret Khyber appearance announced during his opening gig the night before. Night Shyamalan stars William Hurt and Adrien Brody were sighted at Moshulu and The Rittenhouse, respectively. N. 3rd hosted Phillyite Josh Olsen's screening of Infested. Porn industry giant Ron Jeremy surprised barely dressed adult-vid stars Aria, Sunset Thomas and Dennis Hof at the trio's TLA South Street-store signing of Cathouse. Available for photos, Sunset had a trick where she put her head down -- forget it. Too long a story. But tops did come off. All stayed at the Warwick, all ate at Chops, all did interviews for WYSP that sounded licky-sticky.… When I was a wino I loved the Chilean red of Concha y Toro. For my sake, head to Novelty Oct. 14, and tell vintner Sebastian Lopez I miss him. Nicolas Cage, whose National Treasure is filming in the area, off and on, this month.… Movies: Scott Johnston is producing Les Rivera's punk/anti-racism romance, Glass Camouflage, which is being shot in Collingswood. While area expat Butch Mayo was in from L.A. filming 22 hours of footage on all manner of Philly DJs, Mayo's sister, Caroline, is editing her backstage DVD doc on Avril Lavigne. Jeff Elstone premiered his Bloodletting at Silk City -- a serious film on the sensuality of death/speed metal.… By the time you read this, the Liberty Bell will have moved 963 feet and $300 million across the street from its Independence National Historical Park home to a new interpretive center at the National Constitution Center. Sniff.
