Eschewing the girl-with-guitar aesthetic, Sherry Somach -- a fixture in singer/songwriter circles around Philly for years -- shows off her singing with a smooth jazz/swing sound on her new CD, Smooth, Dry & Cookin'. The Rosebuds

The hipsters in The Rosebuds' songs spend their days at record stores, their nights in rock clubs and the wee hours in lonely beds and on trains out of town. On Make Out, singer/guitarist Ivan Howard and keyboardist Kelly Crisp jangle and shimmy toward the better days that must lie ahead.
