Writing Contest Winners 2003

Editor's note: Once again, it is a pleasure and an honor to feature the best of Philadelphia's fiction and poetry. City Paper received 60 stories and nearly 400 poems for our 2003 Writing Contest. CP staffers chose eight fiction finalists, from which judge Tanya Barrientos selected a winner and two runners-up. Poetry judge Louis McKee read each poem and selected one winner and three runners-up. (The runner-up entries can be found online at www.citypaper.net.)

The winners of the 2003 contest will read at a casual wine and cheese reception on Thu., Jan. 22, 7:30 p.m., at Borders Books & Music, 1 S. Broad St., 215-568-7400. Admission is free and all are welcome.
