Keeping real radio alive, DJs Junior and Lil’ Dave’s Eavesdrop booms through systems this week with ex-Company Flow member Mr. Len guesting. Fri., March 12, 6-9 p.m., 91.7 FM, listen online at www.wkdu.org. In what’s fast become a local hip-hop haunt, La Tazza hosts the Saturday Night Special, with live performances by regulars Adlib, Reef the Lost Cauze, Counterparts, King Magnetic and O-D-D. Open mic 9-10:30 p.m. Fri., March 12, 9 p.m.-2 a.m., La Tazza, 108 Chestnut St., 215-922-7322.

The Science Patrol and DJ Variable present "Fresh" Air Friday, a night of hip-hop classics and carefully selected new-school cuts. Of course it wouldn't be hip-hop if a group didn't have more than one name. Resident Roc-Rite monthly b-boy jam spinsters The Science Patrol are also known as Sesion31 -- DJs Fredy Blast, Skeme Richards and Primetime. Boo-yaa! Sesion31 is busy producing tracks for Bahamadia and El Da Sensei. DJ Primetime has a new mix tape on the market, The Formula: Vol. 1. Bring your wallet. Danger Mouse affiliate and Atlanta-transplant DJ Variable makes his Philadelphia debut. Fri., March 12, 9:30 p.m.-2 a.m., $5, women free before 11 p.m., Silk City, Fifth and Spring Garden sts., 215- 922-8157.

It's not hip-hop, but it piqued my interest: Scribe Video Center's Producers Forum is screening Stephanie Black's documentary Life and Debt. A New York Times reviewer called it "the clearest analysis of globalization and its negative effects that [he's] ever seen." Q&A with Black after the film. Sun., March 14, 7 p.m., $10, Prince Music Theater, 1412 Chestnut St., 215-569-9700.

Finally, return to the wonderful world of the couch potato as TV land welcomes the return of The Avenue. Log on to the Web site for new videos that will hit the air, event information and giveaways. Mon.-Fri., 4 p.m., DUTV Cable 54, www.dutv.org/avenue. If last weekend’s big Spring Jam concert offered a bit too much commercial madness, Method Man at the TLA on March 27 and Jedi Mind Tricks at the Trocadero on April 10 will take it down a notch -- and that’s not a bad thing.
