Week Six vs. Browns
We live in a politically correct nation, people. This walk-on-conversational-eggshells mentality permeates every aspect of American life. Even football.
So, of course, when Terrell Owens told an interviewer for Playboy before the season that he questioned former San Francisco teammate Jeff Garcia's sexuality, it created quite a flap. Garcia's now the quarterback of the Cleveland Browns and T.O., well, he's racking up fantasy football points for those who play those sorts of games. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)
With the Eagles heading out to that Third World city for a Sunday afternoon showdown, everybody's going to be focusing on -- in deference to Mr. Shockey -- the "homo" angle. This, even though Owens and Garcia won't be on the field at the same time. Sure, Garcia probably has a little bit of a chip on his shoulder. The Eagles would be foolish not to think he's going to try to prance his way onto SportsCenter, much like he just did with the 99-yard touchdown pass that helped his team to a 34-17 win over rival Cincinnati last week.
In fact, the D will lock in on Garcia to prevent it. Then, young running backs Lee Suggs and Atlantic City's own William Green will become the second, and third, comings of James Mungro. A sustained Browns' running attack will keep the Birds' tired defense on the field just long enough for …
Browns 28, Eagles 20.
