Rock/pop
Four Japanese women covered in fluorescent body paint plunging out explosive psych-pop is not an everyday sight. Yoshimi P-We (of the Boredoms) leads the quartet through multihued, brain-tickling oddball rock that lacks format and pattern. OOIOO's recent album, Kila Kila Kila (Thrill Jockey), dives deep into experimentation with eight ditties that seem to go nowhere until you let your mind and muscles relax and absorb the enticing nonsense.
Thu., Nov. 11, 8 p.m., $10, First Unitarian Church, 22nd and Chestnut sts., 800-594-TIXX.
