Exhibit

It keeps growing and growing. Since friends and families of AIDS victims began sewing in 1987, the AIDS Memorial Quilt has amassed more than 44,000 patches. Arguably the world's largest community arts project, it hasn't been shown in its entirety since 1996, when it spanned the length of Washington D.C.'s National Mall. And while there are no immediate plans for the next massive display, you can still catch glimpses of it in bits and pieces: Its squares constantly travel the globe. In conjunction with World AIDS Day, Haverford College will offer public viewing of six panels of the quilt next week. On Wednesday evening, there'll be a free panel discussion on the latest statistics of the AIDS epidemic among young people. Haverford's only a hop and skip away, so do your bit in paying respect.

AIDS Memorial Quilt Patches Display, Tue., Nov. 30 and Thu., Dec. 2, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Wed., Dec. 1, 8 a.m.-10 p.m. (panel discussion 7 p.m.), free, Founders Great Hall, Haverford College, 370 Lancaster Ave., Haverford, 610-896-1038, www.worldaidsday.com.
