Soap is Dope

MEET AND GREET

If your only experience with soap operas is watching men in tights and masks drop flying elbows off turnbuckles, this may not be the best way to spend your Saturday afternoon. But if you routinely TiVo daytime television or set aside Sundays to watch SOAPnet, brace yourself for heaven on earth; Philadelphia is the fourth stop on ABC Daytime's Fun In The Sun summer tour. While the sun isn't guaranteed, appearances by a host of daytime favorites from All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital are. Evil twins, scorned lovers, vampires and Heather Mills-McCartney will not be attending, but histrionic organ solos and smashed wine glasses are always a possibility. The annual event, hosted by Kamar de los Reyes (Antonio on OLTL), features games, prizes, trivia, autograph and photo ops (oh, dreamy John-Paul Lavoisier!) and a chance to appear in a national Fun In The Sun promo spot set to air on — you guessed it — ABC Daytime. So clip on your glitziest diamonds and start mingling with daytime's hunkiest millionaires and backstabbing bitches. Just don't slap them. That stuff actually hurts, you know.

ABC Daytime's Fun in the Sun, Sat., Jul. 23, noon-4pm, free, The Waterworks at Fairmount Park (behind the Art Museum), 640 Waterworks Dr., www.abc.com/daytime.
