Acoustic singer-songwriter Luke Temple knows his states quite well. Uprooted from Massachusetts, with pit stops in California (where he once called a sleeping bag his home) and New York City, the nomadic Temple has finally found a home in Seattle. Luckily he has also found his way indoors. It rains out there, you know. His debut full-length, Hold a Match for a Gasoline World, was released on Mill Pond Records in April and, thanks in part to airplay on Seattle's publicly funded KEXP, Temple has emerged as one of the next promising prospects in the long line of prolific singer-songwriters based in the Pacific Northwest. "Make Right With You" unabashedly channels the finger-picking style of Paul Simon while "Radiation Blues" recalls the delicate vocal pitch of Stevie Wonder. Catch him before he moves on.
Sat., July 30, 9 p.m., $8, with Eastern Conference Champions and Illinois, The Khyber, 56 S. Second St., 215-238-5888, www.thekhyber.com.
