Top 5 Tea-Steeped Pit Stops

1 Premium Steap
111 S. 18th St., 215-568-2920
Peggy Stephens' magnificent menu of teas will impress even the most casual drinker. Don't ask for Earl Grey when Stephens has imported Assams and Ceylons from all over the world. She'll special order at a customer's behest, but there are ample flavors in stock, including chai rooibos, papaya wild pineapple green tea and a fragrant fasting tea made from mate, lemongrass and ginger.

2 Remedy Tea Bar
1628 Sansom St., 215-557-6688
A sleek space for sipping, Remedy offers staff favorites like chocolate macaroon and Earl Grey de la Crème, as well as such special tea drinks as the Cosmopolitan "Mar-tea-ni," which comprises passionberry iced tea, cranberry and lime juice.

3 Swann Lounge/Four Seasons Hotel
1 Logan Square, 215-963-1500
High tea at the Swann Lounge may be a luxurious indulgence, but if you want a proper pot replete with Scottish scones, clotted cream, finger sandwiches and assorted pastries, this is your best bet outside a trip to the U.K.

4 Susanna Foo
1512 Walnut St., 215-545-2666
Tea is an uncommon ingredient in Asian cooking, but Susanna Foo serves tea-smoked Peking duck breast with whatever sauce she is inspired to make that day. Sichuan peppercorn and taro pancake with a fig reduction were two recent ones.

5 Great Tea International
1724 Sansom St., 215-568-7827
This is no Teahouse of the August Moon, but an intimate, soothing place to enjoy Asian teas, including green, oolong and bubble. The flavors are varied and sold loose or in bags, but the tea here is best savored with one of GTI's red bean buns or tea snacks.
