Prudence Has Two Heads: A Wolf's Glance

Runs through March 10, Pageant Gallery, 607 Bainbridge St., 215-925-1535

Brooklyn artists Christopher George and Roy Williams are the latest in Pageant's winter series of double artist features. Alleys — particularly the dark and scary kind — are of special interest to the pair, who employ sculpture, video imaging and light installations that immerse visitors in a reality-shifting urban netherworld.

Opus

Runs through March 12, $29-$45, Arden Theatre Company, 40 N. Second St., 215-922-1122

Michael Hollinger's latest play draws on his experience as a string musician, and critics all over the region have sung its praises. Hollinger has penned a slew of other noteworthy works including Red Herring and Tooth and Claw. On the surface, Opus is about Beethoven's Opus 131, but it's also a deeply human glimpse into the lives of musicians, seasoned throughout with rich music. The play stars Barrymore Award-winner Greg Wood.

Jordan Wolfson

Runs through March 15, Seraphin Gallery, 1108 Pine St., 215-923-7000

What happens when a pre-med Yalie suddenly switches gears to pursue his lifelong passion for painting? For Jordan Wolfson, that choice was as clear as the subjects of his works are blurred. Seen through a watery lens, Wolfson's semi-abstract, muted still lifes (pictured) center on ordinary pieces of furniture, many of them ornamented with languorous women.
