Just Do ItFill Your Family With Food and Culture
|
Problem: You want to turn your kids on to arts and culture but they're not into traipsing through a shhh, quiet please! museum or sitting in theater seats where a little one's view is invariably blocked by the grownup in front of them.
Solution: Attend the Asian Arts Initiative's annual fundraiser. Kids love food, and this one's got a sumptuous eight-course Chinese banquet featuring meat, poultry and vegetarian dishes. Youth groups perform as the dinner plates keep on comin'. Acts include the colorful Suns Lions Dancers, SoRi-MoRi Korean Cultural Drumming Troupe, spoken-word duo Yellow Rage and AAI's own GenerAsian Next Workshop.
There's also a silent auction and raffle where prizes include original artwork, spa visits, themed gift baskets, theater tickets, hotel stays and more, all going for a fraction of suggested retail. That means bargains, folks.
