The coolest part? Street artists will draw a beautiful chalk carpet across the pavement. Many employ the Italian "trompe l'oeil" technique. According to Heather McCall, executive director of Main Street Mount Holly, that's a fancy word for a method of drawing or painting that makes people believe something is three-dimensional.
