You Like Dirty French Comedy

Fri., June 2, 9 p.m., $10, The Five Spot, 5 South Bank St., 215-574-0070, www.thefivespot.com

In general, the Holocaust is not a funny subject. But for a comedy sketch group that has turned the life of Anne Frank's family into a sitcom called The Franks, anything goes.

Animosity Pierre's latest show, "Death From Above," is a 90-minute laughfest that interlaces short comedic sketches involving absurd situations and parodies from history and pop culture.

"You are going to see a whole bunch of different sketches," says Animosity member Scott Hicken. "Short vignettes, long, power-ballad shows, funny poems, infighting amongst us on stage sometimes. You are going to see a little bit of everything and I'm pretty sure you haven't seen much of it before."

Animosity Pierre is almost a year and a half old and has played comedy clubs and open-mic nights throughout Philadelphia. The group is made up of founding members Hicken, Matthew Lally and David Terruso and bills itself as R-rated sketch comedy. "Hibrow, lowbrow, nobrow, we got it all," says Terruso. "If you like fart jokes, we got them. If you like literary references, we got it. If you want strange philosophies, it's there. Kitchen sink included."
