Isn't it funny how people get together?
I wouldn't necessarily expect Bilwadreaded-up photographer, DJ and producerto be hanging with spiky South Philly punk elder/sketch artist Mikey Wild. And yet there they are, most weekends, sitting along Ninth Street's coffee klatch row, the boys from ScareHo in tow, drawing and snapping, snapping and drawing. It was that exchange of photos and sketches that led to "Face to Face."
At its simplest, this is a dialogue between peers using their respective media. "It really is just pictures of Mikey, by me, drawing, smoking, drinking coffee and performing onstage -- with drawings of me by Mikey," explains Bilwa.
"Mikey and Bilwa really inspire one another," says Bilwa friend and White Couch rep Emily Sweeney. "There's something special about their exchange, with each character becoming larger-than-life."
