"Jamaaladeen Tacuma called from the middle of his European tour!" Robin Parry exclaims. Tacuma wanted to be sure he'd have a part in the next Big Easy Sunday at World Café Live. He's apparently caught the same fever — long distance, no less — as many in the Philly music community for Parry's Philly to New Orleans events. Her enthusiasm is definitely contagious. The WCL bartender made the pilgrimage to Jazz Fest this spring, saw much still lacking in the rebuilding effort, and knew that among her contacts in Philly music, there were some mighty bighearted individuals. The event that Tacuma wanted to host, along with Michaela Majoun, will feature Bonerama, direct from New Orleans, five trombones strong. For the evening's marching band check out local trombone hero Jeff Bradshaw and his Brass Heaven. The price of admission goes right to NOLA.
