Fairmount's favorite cup-o'-joe stop extended into the hills a little over three weeks ago. This affordable gourmet venture co-owned by Lolita's Valerie Safran and Marcie Turney will be fully open by Sept. 5, but the cafe's currently serving great word of mouth. Turney, who also doubles as Lolita's head chef, makes everything from bagels to pastries to brekkie sandwiches. Staffers hope to make it more of a hangout, and less of a takeout joint. Opening is set for late September/early October.

Look for an opening toward the middle of September. Bite This: Painter's braised veal short ribs will be served with homemade gnocchi and roasted celery root.
