This ain't no Toys "R" Us. Nerice Kendter is bringing a variety of European toy lines (Haba, Selecta, Kathe Kruse) to the Philadelphia area with her new experiential kids' wonderland. Busy Bee's opening event will feature a participatory music class with hand-held instruments like maracas, a close-up magic show with cards and coins and, most importantly, the almighty, all-access free play period. Calling all dads: Here's a chance to get the kids out of mom's hair and hit up your all-time favorite shopping destination. The Home Depot holds free kids' workshops the first Saturday of every month. This week, little guys and gals can assemble wooden picture frames and pick up a few safety tips. They'll even be sent home in one of those stylish orange aprons. Ages 5 to 12.

After this preschooler program, kids may be thankful they're not country boys (or girls). The Peanut Butter & Jams concert series hosts the upbeat, kid-friendly band The Cat's Pajamas. The group's bass, guitar, drums, keyboards and harmonica combine with a crazy collection of props to keep kids' eyes glued to the stage instead of the TV. Ages 7 and under.
