Flying Fish Design: Snapshots from Japan, India & Mexico, $8, Art Star Gallery & Boutique, 1030 N. Second St., unit 301, 215-238-1557

Sharpen those pencils—letter writing is back in style.

Wisconsin-based designer Faythe Levine shares stories of her international travels on her Flying Fish Design postcards, available at local boutique Art Star. The collection includes pictures from her trips to Japan, India and Mexico; shots range from breakdancing circles to cartoonish octopuses to kiddies wearing scary masks. The 4-by-6 cards come in packs of 10—more than enough to go around to friends and fam.

"We love [Levine's] work," says Art Star co-owner Megan Brewster. "It fits well with the style of the store. Plus, she is in the indie crafts scene."

Stop crowding MySpace comment sections—Flying Fish is something to write home about.
