After rockin' overseas with Ghostface Killah, Cali Agents and Chief Kamachi, West Philadelphia MC Last Emperor is back to take the stage for the second installment of Philly Urban Legends, presented by the Hip Hop Lounge. Known for spitting philosophy and producing energetic live shows, Emp is one local rap artist who's managed to peek out of the underground, with a resume that includes several European gigs and a North American tour with the multiplatinum-selling Gorillaz. The buzz has simmered, but heads are still checking for Emp. Those waiting will be happy to know he's currently in the studio preparing his next full-length, The Wizard's Wardrobe, due out in 2007. Until then, we'll have to be satisfied with the rare local shows. Better than nothing, right?
Sat., Nov. 25, 9 p.m., $10 (ladies free before 11 p.m.), with Mic Wrecka and DJ Roxy, Liquid Charm, 1207 Race St., 215-557-0208.
