Big Fun for Little Ones

Celebrating the World's Many Faiths

Kids can grab a free copy of Celebrations, a book on world religions compiled by museum staff, make cards for orphans and the children of deployed soldiers, or take a tour of "Heroes From Around the World," an exhibit celebrating icons like Nelson Mandela and Anne Frank. All ages.

Christmas at Longwood Gardens

Ice-skating demos, strolling carolers and decorated trees are only part of this holiday celebration. All activities are included in the price of admission, so get your fill of light displays, organ-led sing-alongs and access to thousands of poinsettias, begonias and cyclamen inside Longwood's heated conservatories. All ages.

Sixth Annual Winter Solstice Celebration

Celebrate the longest night of the year by a blazing bonfire. Franklin Institute astronomer Derrick Pitts will point out constellations, while storyteller Peter Grove will weave tales of the forest. This family tradition also features a craft project in the Conservancy Cottage, as well as baked goods and hot drinks. Ages 5 and up.

Abraham Mouse and the Magic Dreidel

Presented by veteran thesp Chuck Bennett's Mr. Malcolm and his Story Time Friends troupe, this 50-minute holiday hit teaches the importance of selflessness and family. The show tells the story of a little Jewish mouse who finds a magic dreidel while getting ready for Hannukah. It grants him one wish for each day of the Festival of Lights. Ages 2 and up.

The Night Before Christmas

The first act of Spirituoso Ballet's latest show recounts the story of Santa bringing toys to life on Christmas Eve; the second features half of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. Ages 3 and up.
