Homeless Memorial Day 2006

Published: Dec 20, 2006

What:

Homeless Memorial Day 2006

Who:

Monique French, director of Emergency Services for Traveler's Aid

When:

Thu., Dec. 21, 4:30-5:30 p.m., free

Where:

Dilworth Plaza, City Hall, Broad and Market sts., 215-471-9475

What Makes You So Special:

"We're still dealing with the issue of homelessness," says French. "We're seeing lots of things in the media about people moving on to transitional housing, but there's a very real need and emergency out there—especially in Philadelphia—for immediate, safe, secure, competent housing. Every year we have a large number of folks who literally die on the streets, and we just want to remind people that it's still going on, even though the media might say other things."
