Let's be honest: Unless global warming shows up like the day after tomorrow, there's no way you're heading out to The Fire for six consecutive nights of NoLibs Winter Music festivities. But you should try to make it out at least once or twice the trick is picking the right night. Now, I'm about to lay a whole bunch of names on you. It's not even a complete list, and still, it's too many bands to go into who all is worth your time. They're pretty much all on MySpace and they're all linked from The Fire's Web site. It all starts on Tuesday, Feb. 13, with a "songwriter night" featuring Blake Allen of Aunt Pat, Kevin Hanson of The Fractals, Wayne Hsu and Kate Gaffney (pictured). Wednesday: Northstar Infinite, The Clamor and Victor Victor Band. Thursday: Surefire Broadcast, Bebek and Birdie. Friday: Aderbat, Infinien (Chrissie Loftus' new post-Trace Fury band) and Hezekiah Jones. Saturday: US Funk Team, Northern Valentine and The Graboids. The whole thing wraps up on Sunday with a tribute to Bob Dylan, Gram Parsons, Robbie Robertson and Neil Young, with sets by Andrew Lipke, Run Runner, Canadian Invasion and a ton more. Wear a sweater. Spring for a cab.
Tue.-Sun., Feb. 13-18, 8 p.m., all shows $8 (except Tuesday, $6), The Fire, 412 W. Girard Ave., www.iourecords.com/thefire.
