Unless you've been living under a large, noncorseted, hardly tit-illating boulder, you know that when Phil Cohen's 10-year-old Five Spot burned down, so did the costumes, props, sound equipment and artwork of its famed Peek-A-Boo Revue. The costumes may've been skimpy, but they were theirs, dammit. And now they're gone.
Fortunately for us, Peek's dreams didn't die. No one who spends nine years listening to the ravings of Count Scotchula Johnston is going to let a little old (city) fire beat them down. Not hosts Melissa Bang-Bang or Joey Martini. Not Mistress Heather, Ginger Leigh, Tracey Todd Superstar or David Cassanova. So with the aid of musical guests Franzschubert and The Schuubs, one-man sideshow David Smith and striptastic Trixie Little, Peek-A-Boo will live again on the main stage of The Trocadero for just one night to benefit PBR's coffers. (The troupe, not the brew.) This city's oldest burlesque house meets this town's oldest burlesque revue: It's a perfect match. (Pardon the pun.)
