The Spectrum vs. The Trocadero
Northern Liberties Regional:
The Parkway vs. Stephen Starr Restaurants
The Mummers vs. Citizens Bank Park
On Tuesday morning, with Round 3 one day and 1,500 votes old, bracketologists Nick Norlen and Brian Howard hopped on IM to discuss Round 2 results, and Round 3's early returns.
Nick Norlen: The only Round 2 surprise was Tynan trouncing 30th Street Station.
Brian Howard: To my knowledge, Tynan isn't employing a Pierre Robert-style Internet push.
Nick Norlen: That could be a factor in the battle between the two beloved long-haired rebels.
Brian Howard: Will Franklin's heir(s) put up a Web site to drive traffic to the bracket? Who are Franklin's heirs? He's gotta have some.
Nick Norlen: Dude, he's gotta have many.
Brian Howard: So it appears that, aside from Robert, there's another big Internet push afoot. From: the Mummers. Do you regret rattling their cage?
Nick Norlen: No. And for once, I'll be rooting for something baseball-related. For the love of god, Citizens Bank Park, please defeat the sequined menace.
Nick Norlen: Here's a question: Is the Art Museum tired of getting stepped on?
Brian Howard: Rocky owns the Art Museum.
Nick Norlen: Rocky's winning right now, but the museum might go "over the top" on Stallone in crunch time.
Brian Howard: Ouch.
Nick Norlen: Turn the hat!
Nick Norlen: Here's a surprise in the early going: Phanatic over the L-Bell.
Brian Howard: I totally called that. People love that green ... thing.
Brian Howard: I believe the results of this whole thing, at this point, are being skewed by the Robert/Mummers voting blocs.
Nick Norlen: We need Philly Madness voter reform.
Brian Howard: Committee of 76.
Nick Norlen: And a lifetime ban of Mummers.
Nick Norlen: If Pierre wins this thing, do you think he'll consider a run for office?
Brian Howard: Dunno. That guy's got some skeletons in the closet.
Brian Howard: And I mean the Dead album.
Nick Norlen: Yeah, Grateful Dead ones.
Nick Norlen: Ding.
