With no Drano bombs in sight, this isn't your typical science fair — instead, youngsters take on empirical mysteries with a smorgasbord of activities. Must-sees include the "Honey I Shrunk the Museum" painting exhibit, and "What's Behind the Walls," an interactive tour of Eastern State Penitentiary. Ages 3 and up.

Alice in Wonderland
Runs through May 6, $12-$17, The Baby Grand Theatre, 1818 Market St., Wilmington, Del., 800-37-GRAND

With this Andre Gregory adaptation of the classic Lewis Carroll work, kiddies can romp through the rabbit hole with the curious Alice and stumble upon a magical world populated by the likes of the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts. Performed by the Barrymore Award-winning City Theater Company, the show focuses on language and movement. Ages 8 and up.

Mammoth Follies
Mon., April 30, 10:15 a.m., $6, Keswick Theatre, 291 N. Keswick Ave., Glenside, 215-572-7650

Dancing dinosaurs, oh my! Hudson Vagabond Puppets has created an educational, child-friendly look at the theory of evolution, hosted by the awesomely named Willie Mammoth. Ages 7 to 11.

Arbor Day Celebration
Sun., April 29, 1-3 p.m., $5-$10, Morris Arboretum, 100 E. Northwestern Ave., 215-247-5777

Environmentalism is all the rage these days, so let your munchkins go green with a tree party. Kids can learn more about their surroundings with a tree-climbing demonstration, discovery stations and tree-related crafts. And don't miss the Philadelphia Zoo's live animal show featuring branch-scaling creatures. Ages 4 and up.

Philadelphia International Children's Festival
Runs April 29-May 5, $7-$12, Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, 3680 Walnut St., 215-898-3900

Boasting circus arts, puppetry and jesters, this festival celebrates centuries-old performance techniques. We like the acrobatic Alberto, wrangling his relatives into the ring for aerials in "Zoppé: An Italian Circus Family," and the mime-tastic, Monty Python-esque "The Number 14." Ages 4 and up.
