The Fonthill Museum is kicking it old-school with an early-20th-century celebration for the Fourth. Traditions from yesteryear include live old-timey folk tunes, a decorated bike parade, a town ball (turn-of-the-century-style baseball), a watermelon-eating contest and a bucket brigade relay. Grub will be for sale, but hungry little partygoers will surely appreciate a picnic basket full of yummies, which will be auctioned off during the day. All ages.

Have enough homemade birdhouses? Step up the crafty garden decor and get the family together to make colorful stepping stones for the yard.
