But Making Time may've met its match in Simian Mobile Disco. Starting life as a dismal Brit indie-punk band Simian, James Ford and James Shaw had a touch of spiky danz-rock to their spirit. Wisely, the now-famous Justice remix team dropped its guitars and such to become
Simian Mobile Disco and start bashing out a brand of boogie-down electro that's a decadent as it is sprightly. Their boldly eerie tracks "It's the Beat" and "Sleep Deprivation" good as they are can't prepare you for the poppy positivism of the rest of their debut, Attack Decay Sustain Release(Wichita Recordings). Their dark but giggly music promises to turn Pure into A Night at the Roxbury.
