Ever feel like you're neither here nor there? Then welcome to the world of Storage, a new work by 13th Street Theatre. As company member Kate Hopkins explains, "A lot of the themes have to do with being stuck between one thing and another, where there's this empty middle ground and then something new happens. Like the space between being asleep and awake, or you're in a waiting room, or the space between death and life." So basically it deals with moving from one kind of limbo to another, which may sound existential, but Hopkins notes that there's plenty of humor and the entire piece presents "a circus of emotion." Meanwhile, the company is brand-spanking-new to the city — Hopkins grew up in the area but she attended NYU where she met fellow 13th Streeters Richard Fleischer and Cyndi Perczek. All three are trained in dance and theater, and they exercise broad physical and acting chops in Storage. Hopkins observes, "It's a mixture of dance and scenes that all flow together in a very theatrical style."
