When underground heads hear the name Copywrite, they usually think of his affiliation with RJD2, or his fallout with Cage, or the "incident" that really doesn't need mentioning. Seriously. Pushing all that aside, Copywrite gained an allegiance of fans who continue to come out to hear the proud Ohio native kick the sarcastic rhymes in the direct style that he's known for. The past few years have seen him hitting up cities here and there, as well as guest starring on a slew of mix tapes. He'll be joined by a handful of local talent including Jersey MC and Viro the Virus — who, along with DJ Caliph-NOW, will be spittin' out tracks from latest album Jersey's Finest — and the performance might even include collaborations with MC SlimDSM, who'll be holding down hosting duties. And, that's not it. About five other people will be taking the stage, including big-ass King Magnetic from Allentown. Good thing this is in a church, because some prayers need to be said for this show. Seriously.
Sat., Aug. 25, 8 p.m., $10, with DJ Caliph-NOW, DJ Primetime, King Magnetic, MAGr, Scanz, hosted by Slim DSM, First Unitarian Church, 2125 Chestnut St.,
